I Love Lincoln City Oregon and the Beauty of the Oregon Coast so much! There are really no words to describe the wonders and benefits of living in a small Oregon Coastal Community; from the way we take care of one another, to meeting all kinds of wonderful people from all over the world and just living and working surrounded by beauty, is simply just amazing! I have lived on the Oregon Coast for 18 years now, less the time I moved my daughter to the valley so she could attend College and it just so happens that I did too! She grew up and the ocean and family called me home. I have lived in Lincoln City for 3 years now and worked as an Independent Massage Therapist at Back In Touch Massage prior to opening Therapeutic Massage Works in January 2012. I Love my job, how many people can say that? I'm living my dream life being able to help others through massage therapy.

Helping others has always been my passion. I actually started out working in Home Health many years ago; I would massage my clients gently out of love knowing they were in pain. My job detailed personal care, checking vitals, distributing meds and helping them stay as independent as possible. Massaging my clients with severe arthritis helped them feel better and become more mobile.

In 2003 I took my daughter on a 30 day vacation for her graduation and we ended up in Sedona AZ. While on vacation we went to what we thought was a spa, but ended up inside a Chronic Pain Center which taught Myofascial Release. This is a technique that greatly increases mobility and can absolutely relieve chronic pain. I knew at that very moment that I needed to study this and I was told that I needed to become a Licensed Massage Therapist or Physical Therapist before I could. And so my journey began. Upon my return from vacation I went back to work with Home Health. Then one day one of my clients BP was over 220 when I arrived and she refused to go in for treatment (which was absolutely her right). So I thought, well if she's going to stroke out on me today she's going to do so with Love and a foot rub. My clients BP dropped to 145 within 25-30 minutes of her foot treatment and my massage journey began. I sold my car, dropped down to PT work, attended and graduated massage school and here I am today, a passionate LMT.

I have learned so much in the last 5 years, the benefits' of massage are many! I feel so blessed everyday of my life that I get to help others on their individual health journeys; whether it's to stay healthy with massage therapy for stress relief or helping in their recovery from an actual injury, surgery or simply muscle soreness. There is always more to learn and I enjoy it all.

I feel strongly that all medical professionals working together create greater health care for patients, from physicians, physical therapists, massage therapists, naturopaths, acupuncturists to chiropractors. I also believe it is absolutely vital that you as the patient take a very active roll in educating yourself, involving yourself fully in your healthcare and always listen to your bodies needs. Our hands as massage therapist can help you on your journey toward greater health; although as licensed massage therapists we never diagnose, treat medical illness or perform chiropractic adjustments for our clients.
